Berlin is one of Europe’s most fascinating and complex cities. It is creative, historic, diverse, and constantly changing. Yet beneath its vibrant cultural energy lie deep spiritual and social realities that make the need for local churches urgent as ever. To plant churches in Berlin is to engage a city shaped by four interconnected contexts: a culture of hedonism, a legacy of atheism, an epidemic of loneliness, and an ecumenical tide of humanism.
